Woman mugged in NYC subway station during rush hour


A woman was mugged at a knifepoint during rush hour in an Upper Manhattan subway stop, police said Monday.

The brazen robbery unfolded around 6 p.m. Thursday at the West 163rd Street station in Washington Heights where the assailant pulled a knife on the woman and tried to grab her phone, cops said.

After a brief struggle, the mugger made off with the woman’s purse, which was later found emptied out, cops said.

Police are still looking for the robber who managed to escape custody.

The woman was uninjured.
